RESUMO

This study evaluated carcass attributes, meat and belly qualities in finisher boars (n = 79) selected for feed efficiency (low, intermediate and high) based on estimated breeding value for feed conversion ratio within a Large White dam and sire genetic lines. The sire line had lower trimmed fat proportions and higher lean than the dam line (P < 0.01). Genetic lines expressed slight colour changes and drip losses (P < 0.05), with no differences in pH, marbling and cooking traits (P > 0.05). High-efficient animals presented the highest lean yield (P < 0.01), the lowest trimmed fat proportion (P < 0.01) and no effect on meat and belly quality attributes (P > 0.05) compared with other efficient groups. Interaction between efficiency group and genetic line was only detected for belly weight and thickness (P < 0.01). High-efficient animals offer a greater leanness level, with minimal impact on meat and belly quality traits.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Contact precautions (CPs) have been widely implemented in hospitals, particularly in intensive care units (ICUs), as the standard approach for managing meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). However, the effectiveness of CPs in preventing MRSA transmission remains a subject of debate. AIM: To assess the effectiveness of CPs in reducing MRSA transmission within ICUs. METHODS: A comprehensive analysis was conducted using data from 16 sets of parameters collected from 13 field studies investigating the effectiveness of CPs in ICUs, and an epidemiologic model was developed to simulate the dynamics of MRSA incidence in the hospital setting. FINDINGS: The analysis demonstrated a mean reduction of 20.52% (95% confidence interval -30.52 to 71.60%) in the MRSA transmission rate associated with the implementation of CPs. Furthermore, reducing the time-delay of screening tests and increasing the percentage of patients identified with MRSA through screening at admission were found to contribute to the effectiveness of CPs. CONCLUSION: Proper implementation of CPs, with a particular emphasis on early identification of MRSA-colonized/infected patients, demonstrated a strong association with reduced MRSA transmission within the hospital setting. However, further research is necessary to investigate the effectiveness and safety of decolonization and other interventions used in conjunction with CPs to mitigate the risk of infection among colonized patients.

RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the differences of immune microenvironment between stage T1N3 and stage T3N0 breast cancer patients and explore the relationship between M1 macrophage infiltration and lymph node metastasis in breast cancer. Methods: Clinical information and RNA-sequencing (RNA-Seq) expression data of stage T1N3 (n=9) and stage T3N0 (n=11) breast cancer patients were extracted from Molecular Taxonomy of Breast Cancer International Consortium (METABRIC) databases. Using CIBERSORT, the proportions of 22 types of immune cells were calculated, and then the differences of immune cell infiltration between stage T1N3 and T3N0 patients were compared. From 2011 to 2022, pathologic specimens were collected from breast cancer patients who underwent curative resection at the Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, including 77 at stage T1N3 and 58 at stage T3N0.The METABRIC database analysis results were verified by examining the density of M1 macrophages in tissues using dual-staining immunohistochemistry. Results: METABRIC data analysis showed M1 macrophage was the highest proportion, 15.85% in stage T1N3 breast cancer; M2 macrophage was the highest proportion, 13.07% in stage T3N0 breast cancer.M1 macrophage proportions were statistically different between patients with stage T1N3 and stage T3N0 (P=0.010). The dual-staining immunohistochemistry analysis of breast cancer tissues showed M1 macrophage density (median) of 62.0 and 38.0 cells/mm(2) for stage T1N3 and T3N0, respectively. The difference was statistically significant (P=0.002). Conclusion: The density of M1 macrophages is notably higher in stage T1N3 patients and is associated with lymph node metastasis.

RESUMO

Unconventional superconductors often feature competing orders, small superfluid density, and nodal electronic pairing. While unusual superconductivity has been proposed in the kagome metals AV3Sb5, key spectroscopic evidence has remained elusive. Here we utilize pressure-tuned and ultra-low temperature muon spin spectroscopy to uncover the unconventional nature of superconductivity in RbV3Sb5 and KV3Sb5. At ambient pressure, we observed time-reversal symmetry breaking charge order below [Formula: see text] 110 K in RbV3Sb5 with an additional transition at [Formula: see text] 50 K. Remarkably, the superconducting state displays a nodal energy gap and a reduced superfluid density, which can be attributed to the competition with the charge order. Upon applying pressure, the charge-order transitions are suppressed, the superfluid density increases, and the superconducting state progressively evolves from nodal to nodeless. Once optimal superconductivity is achieved, we find a superconducting pairing state that is not only fully gapped, but also spontaneously breaks time-reversal symmetry. Our results point to unprecedented tunable nodal kagome superconductivity competing with time-reversal symmetry-breaking charge order and offer unique insights into the nature of the pairing state.

RESUMO

The electronic instabilities in CsV3Sb5 are believed to originate from the V 3d-electrons on the kagome plane, however the role of Sb 5p-electrons for 3-dimensional orders is largely unexplored. Here, using resonant tender X-ray scattering and high-pressure X-ray scattering, we report a rare realization of conjoined charge density waves (CDWs) in CsV3Sb5, where a 2 × 2 × 1 CDW in the kagome sublattice and a Sb 5p-electron assisted 2 × 2 × 2 CDW coexist. At ambient pressure, we discover a resonant enhancement on Sb L1-edge (2s→5p) at the 2 × 2 × 2 CDW wavevectors. The resonance, however, is absent at the 2 × 2 × 1 CDW wavevectors. Applying hydrostatic pressure, CDW transition temperatures are separated, where the 2 × 2 × 2 CDW emerges 4 K above the 2 × 2 × 1 CDW at 1 GPa. These observations demonstrate that symmetry-breaking phases in CsV3Sb5 go beyond the minimal framework of kagome electronic bands near van Hove filling.

RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the clinical manifestations and genetic features of 2 children with Smith-Kingsmore syndrome caused by MTOR gene variation and review the literature. Methods: The clinical data of 2 children carrying MTOR gene variant, diagnosed at Xi'an Children's Hospital from April 2018 to April 2021, were retrospectively summarized."MTOR"and"Smith-Kingsmore syndrome"were used as key words to search at China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, PubMed and OMIM up to August 2021. The characteristics of MTOR gene variation and the clinical phenotype of children with Smith-Kingsmore syndrome were summarized. Results: Two children were both females, aged 1.5 years and 2 years respectively, the onset age were both in infancy. They both had developmental delay, megalencephaly and abnormal face. Both whole exome sequencing revealed a de novo heterozygous missense variant in MTOR gene. One case carried c.5395G>A (p.Glu1799Lys) and the other case carried c.7234G>C (p.Asp2412His). There was no literature of MTOR gene variation in Chinese. So far, a total of 45 cases were reported worldwide with detailed clinical information. Eleven variations in MTOR gene were involved, which were all heterozygous missense mutations. Among them, p.Glu1799Lys was the most common sites (28 cases,62%). Another case carried c.7234G>C (p.Asp2412His) was not reported before. Summarizing the 47 cases (including these 2 cases), 46 cases had developmental delay or intellectual disability, 9 cases had developmental regression,42 cases had megalencephaly, 30 cases had facial malformation,16 cases had hypotonia, 17 cases had autism spectrum disorders, 3 cases had hyperactivity, 3 cases had obsessive compulsive disorder, 13 cases had eye diseases, 11 cases had cutaneous vascular malformation, and 9 cases had hypoglycemia. Conclusions: The main clinical features of Smith-Kingsmore syndrome include megalencephaly, developmental delay or intellectual disability, and facial malformation, which can be combined with epilepsy, autism spectrum disorder, hypotonia, hypoglycemia and so on. The variation of MTOR gene is the cause of Smith-Kingsmore syndrome.

RESUMO

Objective: To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of pneumoconiosis in Qinghai Province from 2011 to 2020, and to provide a basis for the formulation of prevention and control strategy. Methods: In April 2021 , the cases of pneumoconiosis were monitored by the Occupational Disease and Health Hazard Factors Monitoring Information System in Qinghai Province from 2011 to 2020. The distribution of pneumoconiosis, the composition of diseases and the working years exposed to dust were analyzed. Results: All 1026 cases of pneumoconiosis were newly diagnosed in Qinghai Province from 2011 to 2020, silicosis and coal worker pneumoconiosis were the main diseases (78.36% ,804/1026). Stage Ⅰ pneumoconiosis were 484 (47.17%,484/1026) cases. 359 (34.99%,359/1026) cases, 315 (30.70%,315/1026) cases and 252 (24.56%, 252/1026) cases had been diagnosed respectively in Xining City, Haidong City and Haixi Prefecture; 628 (61.21%,628/1026) cases and 418 (40.74%, 418/1026) cases engaged in mining industry and large-sized enterprise, respectively. The working years exposed to dust in silicosis cases were shorter than that in coal worker pneumoconiosis and other pneumoconiosis (P <0.05). Conclusion: The pneumoconiosis area and industry focus in Qinghai Province is obvious. The supervision and adninistration of small and micro scale employers should be strengthened to protect the health rights and interests of workers, especially for the key area and industry.

RESUMO

Tuberculosis is a major global infectious disease that seriously endangers human health. Studies have shown that there will be an imbalance of intestinal microecology after infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. And vise versa the imbalance of intestinal flora will also increase the susceptibility to Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Prevotella is a newly discovered intestinal microorganism closely related to inflammatory diseases, and its abundance changes significantly in patients with tuberculosis. Therefore, this paper reviews the correlation between intestinal microorganism Prevotella and pulmonary tuberculosis, in order to provide new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis.

RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the expression of programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1, SP142) and PD-L1 (22C3) in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), and analyze their correlation with the clinicopathological factors and prognosis. Methods: The clinicopathologic data of 259 patients with TNBC treated in Cancer Hospital from August 2010 to December 2013 were collected. Whole section of surgical tissue samples were collected to conduct PD-L1 (SP142) and PD-L1 (22C3) immunohistochemical (IHC) staining. The PD-L1 expression in tumor cells and tumor infiltrating immune cells were visually assessed respectively, the relationship between PD-L1 expression and clinicopathologic characterizes were analyzed. Univariable and multivariable Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to test the correlations between PD-L1 expression and disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS). Results: The positive rates of SP142 (immune cell score, ICs≥1%) and 22C3 (combined positive score, CPS≥1) were 42.1%(109/259) and 41.3%(107/259) in TNBC tissues, respectively, with a total coincidence rate of 82.3%. The Kappa value of positive expression cases was 0.571 and the distribution difference of SP142 and 22C3 positive expression cases was statistically significant (P<0.001). The PD-L1 positive patients were less likely to have vascular invasion (P<0.05), but with higher histological grade and Ki-67 proliferation index (P<0.05). The recurrence/metastasis cases(8) of the patients with positive PD-L1 (SP142) was significantly lower than that of patients with negative PD-L1(SP142, 27, P=0.016). The positive expression of PD-L1 (SP142) patients were longer DFS (P=0.019). The OS of patients with positive PD-L1 (SP142) were longer than those with negative PD-L1 (SP142), but without significance (P=0.116). The positive expression of PD-L1 (22C3) was marginally associated with DFS and OS of patients (P>0.05). Conclusions: The expression of PD-L1 (22C3) is different from that of PD-L1 (SP142) in TNBC, and the two antibodies can't be interchangeable for each other in clinical tests. PD-L1 (SP142) status is an independent prognostic factor of DFS in TNBC. The DFS is significantly prolonged in patients with positive expression of PD-L1 (SP142).

RESUMO

The kagome lattice1, which is the most prominent structural motif in quantum physics, benefits from inherent non-trivial geometry so that it can host diverse quantum phases, ranging from spin-liquid phases, to topological matter, to intertwined orders2-8 and, most rarely, to unconventional superconductivity6,9. Recently, charge sensitive probes have indicated that the kagome superconductors AV3Sb5 (A = K, Rb, Cs)9-11 exhibit unconventional chiral charge order12-19, which is analogous to the long-sought-after quantum order in the Haldane model20 or Varma model21. However, direct evidence for the time-reversal symmetry breaking of the charge order remains elusive. Here we use muon spin relaxation to probe the kagome charge order and superconductivity in KV3Sb5. We observe a noticeable enhancement of the internal field width sensed by the muon ensemble, which takes place just below the charge ordering temperature and persists into the superconducting state. Notably, the muon spin relaxation rate below the charge ordering temperature is substantially enhanced by applying an external magnetic field. We further show the multigap nature of superconductivity in KV3Sb5 and that the [Formula: see text] ratio (where Tc is the superconducting transition temperature and λab is the magnetic penetration depth in the kagome plane) is comparable to those of unconventional high-temperature superconductors. Our results point to time-reversal symmetry-breaking charge order intertwining with unconventional superconductivity in the correlated kagome lattice.

RESUMO

AIMS: The objective of this study is to explore the relationship between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin-D(25-(OH)2D3) level and sweat function in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). METHODS: A cross-sectional study of 1021 patients with T2DM who underwent 25-(OH)2D3 level detections and sweat function tests was carried out. These individuals were divided into deficient groups (n = 154 cases), insufficient groups (n = 593 cases) and sufficient groups (n = 274 cases). Spearman correlation analysis and multivariate stepwise linear regression analysis were implemented to determine the association of 25-(OH)2D3 level and sweat function. RESULTS: The total presence of sweating dysfunction was 38.59%. Patients with a lower level of serum 25-(OH)2D3 had more severe sweat secretion impairment (P < 0.05). As the decrease of serum 25-(OH)2D3 level, the presence of sweating dysfunction increased (P < 0.05). 25-(OH)2D3 level was positively correlated with sweat function parameters, age and duration of T2DM were negatively correlated with sweat function parameter (P < 0.05). Multivariate stepwise linear regression analysis explored a significant association between serum 25-(OH)2D3 level with sweat function (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Serum 25-(OH)2D3 level was positively correlated with sweat function in patients with T2DM.

RESUMO

The vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) radiation is generated in the strong-field-ionized CO molecules through 2+1 resonance excitation with two-color femtosecond laser pulses. When scanning the relative delay between two pump pulses, the rotational-resolved VUV radiations show periodic oscillations lasting as long as 500 ps. Fourier analysis reveals that these oscillations correspond to rotational beat frequencies of the A2Πi state of CO+, which is the result of multi-channel interference during the resonant excitation process. High resolution of Fourier transform spectra up to 0.067cm-1 allows us to obtain the fine energy levels of the A2Πi state. The theoretical calculation is in good agreement with the experimental observation. This work reveals the rotational coherence of the ionic excited state and shows the prospect of rotational coherence spectroscopy in measuring fine structures of molecular ions.

RESUMO

CsV_{3}Sb_{5} is a newly discovered Z_{2} topological kagome metal showing the coexistence of a charge-density-wave (CDW)-like order at T^{*}=94 K and superconductivity (SC) at T_{c}=2.5 K at ambient pressure. Here, we study the interplay between CDW and SC in CsV_{3}Sb_{5} via measurements of resistivity, dc and ac magnetic susceptibility under various pressures up to 6.6 GPa. We find that the CDW transition decreases with pressure and experience a subtle modification at P_{c1}≈0.6-0.9 GPa before it vanishes completely at P_{c2}≈2 GPa. Correspondingly, T_{c}(P) displays an unusual M-shaped double dome with two maxima around P_{c1} and P_{c2}, respectively, leading to a tripled enhancement of T_{c} to about 8 K at 2 GPa. The obtained temperature-pressure phase diagram resembles those of unconventional superconductors, illustrating an intimated competition between CDW-like order and SC. The competition is found to be particularly strong for the intermediate pressure range P_{c1}≤P≤P_{c2} as evidenced by the broad superconducting transition and reduced superconducting volume fraction. The modification of CDW order around P_{c1} has been discussed based on the band structure calculations. This work not only demonstrates the potential to raise T_{c} of the V-based kagome superconductors, but also offers more insights into the rich physics related to the electron correlations in this novel family of topological kagome metals.

RESUMO

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of treatment with follicular unit extraction (FUE) and transplantation in treating cicatricial alopecia. Methods: The retrospective cohort study was conducted. From January 2012 to January 2018, 56 patients (36 males and 20 females, aged (25±9) years, 1% to 30% alopecia area of the whole scalp area) who met the inclusion criteria visited the outpatient department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Medical University. They were treated with FUE transplantation. The procedure of treatment was performed through the preoperative planning, follicular extraction, follicular preparation, punching recipient site and hair transplantation. The survival rate of hair and density of survived hair were calculated, hair growth and complication were observed. The evaluation was conducted through questionnaire survey by 4 levels: very satisfied, satisfied, not satisfied, and not at all satisfied with effects. Results: After a follow-up of 9 to 24 months, the survival rate of hair in 56 patients was (70±9)%, and the density of survived hair was (35±8) roots/cm2. In the evaluation of the curative effect after the first stage surgery, 34 cases (60.7%) were very satisfied, 16 cases (28.6%) were satisfied, and 6 cases (10.7%)thought the treatment was effective but not satisfied. Six unsatisfactory patients and 16 satisfactory patients underwent the second-stage transplantation, with 19 (86.4%) of them being very satisfied and 3 cases (13.6%) satisfied after the second-stage operation. None of the patients underwent the third-stage surgery. The transplanted hairs grew naturally, and there were no serious complications in all cases. Conclusions: FUE transplantation can effectively treat and improve cicatricial alopecia with less trauma, fewer complication, no scar in the donor site and rapid post-operative recovery, so it is worthy of clinical promotion.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The imbalance of gut microbiota has been linked to manifold endocrine diseases, but the association with Graves' disease (GD) is still unclear. The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between human gut microbiota and clinical characteristics and thyroidal functional status of GD. METHODS: 14 healthy volunteers (CG) and 15 patients with primary GD (HG) were recruited as subjects. 16SrDNA high-throughput sequencing was performed on IlluminaMiSeq platform to analyze the characteristics of gut microbiota in patients with GD. Among them, the thyroid function of 13 patients basically recovered after treatment with anti-thyroid drugs (oral administration of Methimazole for 3-5 months). The fecal samples of patients after treatment (TG) were sequenced again, to further explore and investigate the potential relationship between dysbacteriosis and GD. RESULTS: In terms of alpha diversity index, the observed OTUs, Simpson and Shannon indices of gut microbiota in patients with GD were significantly lower than those in healthy volunteers (P < 0.05).The difference of bacteria species was mainly reflected in the genus level, in which the relative abundance of Lactobacillus, Veillonella and Streptococcus increased significantly in GD. After the improvement of thyroid function, a significant reduction at the genus level were Blautia, Corynebacter, Ruminococcus and Streptococcus, while Phascolarctobacterium increased significantly (P < 0.05). According to Spearman correlation analysis, the correlation between the level of thyrotropin receptor antibody (TRAb) and the relative abundance of Lactobacillus and Ruminococcus was positive, while Synergistetes and Phascolarctobacterium showed a negative correlation with TRAb. Besides, there were highly significant negative correlation between Synergistetes and clinical variables of TRAb, TPOAb and TGAb (P < 0.05, R < - 0.6). CONCLUSIONS: This study revealed that functional status and TRAb level in GD were associated with composition and biological function in the gut microbiota, with Synergistetes and Phascolarctobacterium protecting the thyroid probably, while Ruminococcus and Lactobacillus may be novel biomarkers of GD.

RESUMO

Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) KCNQ1 and opposite strand/antisense transcript 1 (KCNQ1OT1) have been validated to be carcinogenic in several cancers. However, the role of KCNQ1OT1 in regulating the malignant biological behavior and radiotherapy resistance of cervical cancer (CC) remains largely unknown. Quantitative real time-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was carried out to detect KCNQ1OT1 and miR-491-5p expression in CC tissues and cells. Pyruvate kinase M1/2 (PKM2) expression was detected by Western blot. CC cell proliferation, movement, migration and invasion were monitored by CCK-8, scratch healing and Transwell assay, respectively. The CC cell colony survival was detected by colony formation assay under different doses of radiation. Dual luciferase reporter gene assay, pull-down assay and RIP assay were employed to verify the targeting relationship between KCNQ1OT1, miR-491-5p and PKM2. In this study, KCNQ1OT1 was significantly up-regulated in CC patient cancerous tissues and cell lines, and its high expression was significantly related to tumor volume increase and poor differentiation. KCNQ1OT1 overexpression significantly promoted CC cell proliferation, metastasis and radioresistance. On the contrary, KCNQ1OT1 knockdown compared to the control group inhibited the above biological behavior of CC cells. The underlying mechanism suggested that KCNQ1OT1 promoted progression and radioresistance of CC by modulating the miR-491-5p/PKM2 axis. In conclusion, KCNQ1OT1 enhances CC cell progression through the miR-491-5p/PKM2 axis.

RESUMO

Temperature- and frequency-dependent infrared spectroscopy identifies two contributions to the electronic properties of the magnetic kagome metal Fe_{3}Sn_{2}: two-dimensional Dirac fermions and strongly correlated flat bands. The interband transitions within the linearly dispersing Dirac bands appear as a two-step feature along with a very narrow Drude component due to intraband contribution. Low-lying absorption features indicate flat bands with multiple van Hove singularities. Localized charge carriers are seen as a Drude peak shifted to finite frequencies. The spectral weight is redistributed when the spins are reoriented at low temperatures; a sharp mode appears suggesting the opening of a gap due to the spin reorientation as the sign of additional Weyl nodes in the system.

The skin graft and flap survived well during afollow-up of (15.3±8.1) months. There has been no local recurrence. The foreskin edema and wound infection were noted in 4 cases and 1 case, respectively. There was no other related complications. Conclusion: Perineal Paget's disease can be managed by resection and immediate reconstruction with skin graft or flap according to the size and location of the defect, and the clinical efficacy is distinct.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of the downregulation of AGER by miRNA-185-3p on renal function in diabetic nephropathy (DN) mice. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Mice were divided into normal, model, NC, miR-185-3p mimic, si-AGER, and miR-185-3p mimic + si-AGER groups. Eight weeks following the establishment of the model, various indicators were assessed. RESULTS: Compared to control groups, miR-185-3p expression, body weight, superoxide dismutase (SOD) content, catalase (CAT) content, proliferation, S-phase ratios, and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) expression were significantly lower in all experimental groups, whilst AGER expression, water intake, food intake, urine volume, urine protein content, serum creatinine (Scr), Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN), MDA content, G0/G1 status, and rates of apoptosis were significantly higher (all p<0.05). Compared to the model group, miR-185-3p mimics, si-AGER, and miR-185-3p mimic + si-AGER groups had a significantly higher SOD content, CAT content, proliferation, S phase ratios, PCNA expression and lower AGER expression, water intake, food intake, urine output, urine protein, Scr, BUN, MDA content, G0/G1 ratios, and apoptosis rates (all p<0.05). In addition, the effects of the miR-185-3p mimics + si-AGER were superior to miR-185-3p mimics and si-AGER monotherapy groups (both p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: MiR-185-3p inhibits AGER, downregulates AGER expression, and improves renal function in DN mice.
